Thank you for visiting my website. I created this website because friends kept asking me if there was a place they could go to stay informed about my latest shows and to order my cards and prints. Well, here it is!
I don't sell originals here - you'll have to visit me at my studio, at a gallery or a at an art show - See the "News and Notes" section below for information on where I am right now.
The Prints: Prints are on the highest quality acid-free 1/16" thick Artboard. My printing process uses the most recent technology and Ultrachrome K3 Ink. These prints look absolutely fabulous! A print that is listed as 11" x 14" will fit into that frame size. The image is about 20% smaller than the frame size to create a wide border, eliminating the need for a mat.
The Cards: Cards are 4.5" x 6.25" and are printed on the highest quality watercolor paper using the same technology as my prints. Ordering Cards and Prints is easy.
How to Order: First, Choose the image you want by clicking on "Select an Image" in the menu to the left. Take note of the name of the images that you want. Then, click on "Order Cards" or "Order Prints" and follow the instructions there!

The Sunday Annapolis
Capital on March 4, 2012 printed an image of Ruth's watercolor painting “Tangier Past” and wrote:
"One Petticoat Lane is
presenting the artwork of Ruth Ostrander during the month of March. Ostrander is a watercolor and pastel artist
whose signature pieces are paintings of water scenes in and around the Chesapeake Bay.
She uses watercolor to retain the transparency of the sky and water, and
to paint earth and object. Ostrander
finds that the opaque quality of soft pastels gives solidity to her landscapes,
so she often uses them together as a mixed medium.”
